The TEDxThaltej Salon Autonomous Charter is the supreme governing document that defines the identity, mission, and operational framework of TEDxThaltej Salon. It establishes the principles by which the Salon operates and ensures that all activities remain aligned with the global TEDx mission of Ideas Worth Spreading, while also reflecting the unique cultural, intellectual, and social context of Thaltej and the broader Ahmedabad region.
1.2 Autonomy and Non-Commercial Spirit
TEDxThaltej Salon operates under an independent TEDx license granted to the Organizer by TED. The Salon is a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven platform committed to curating ideas, fostering dialogue, and inspiring change. All decisions, programs, and initiatives are undertaken in strict adherence to TEDx rules, free from political, religious, or commercial influence.
1.3 Commitment to Excellence and Compliance
This Charter serves as the primary source of authority for all TEDxThaltej Salon policies, procedures, and operations. It ensures that governance is transparent, accountable, and consistent with TEDx brand standards, ethical norms, and community expectations. All participants, partners, and stakeholders are bound by the principles set forth herein.
1.4 Continuity and Legacy
TEDxThaltej Salon is established with the intent of sustaining a long-term intellectual legacy for the local and global community. The structure defined in this Charter enables smooth leadership transitions, preservation of institutional memory, and the safeguarding of the event’s brand integrity.
1.5 Supremacy of the Charter
All operational guidelines, committees, associations, and internal policies derive their authority from this Charter. In the event of any inconsistency between this Charter and any other internal document, this Charter shall prevail. Any amendments to this Charter must be made in accordance with Section 14.
2.1 Name
The official name of this initiative shall be TEDxThaltej Salon, hereinafter referred to as “the Salon.” The name is licensed under the TEDx program of TED Conferences, LLC, and is subject to all rules, guidelines, and restrictions issued by TED.
2.2 Legal Status
The Salon functions as an independently organized TEDx event under the TEDxThaltej Salon license granted to the Organizer by TED.
It is a non-commercial, volunteer-led platform without separate legal incorporation, operating within the framework of the TEDx license.
All operations shall remain compliant with applicable laws of the Republic of India and the State of Gujarat, in addition to TEDx’s global compliance requirements.
2.3 Scope of Authority
The Salon operates solely under the authority of this Charter and the TEDx license. No committee, member, or associated body may act in a manner inconsistent with the TEDx brand or in violation of the Organizer’s directives.
2.4 Objectives
The objectives of TEDxThaltej Salon are to:
Curate and present high-quality talks, performances, and discussions that align with TED’s global mission of Ideas Worth Spreading.
Provide an intimate, recurring forum for the exchange of innovative ideas, local solutions, and cultural perspectives.
Empower local voices, thought leaders, and changemakers by giving them a credible, globally connected platform.
Foster community engagement, interdisciplinary dialogue, and collaboration across diverse sectors.
Showcase the cultural heritage, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of Thaltej, Ahmedabad, and the surrounding regions.
Maintain the highest standards of ethics, inclusivity, and sustainability in event management.
2.5 Boundaries of Operation
The Salon shall not engage in:
Commercial advertising or sponsorships that conflict with TEDx policies;
Political campaigning, lobbying, or religious proselytizing;
Any activity that could damage the reputation or integrity of the TED or TEDx brands.
3.1 Vision
To establish TEDxThaltej Salon as a globally respected, locally rooted platform where transformative ideas are shared, cultural narratives are celebrated, and innovative solutions emerge — inspiring individuals and communities to create a more informed, connected, and compassionate world.
3.2 Mission
TEDxThaltej Salon is dedicated to curating and delivering a continuous series of high-quality, independently organized TEDx events in an intimate salon format. The mission is to:
Provide consistent opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, creativity, and diverse perspectives.
Amplify the voices of individuals whose ideas have the potential to shape local and global conversations.
Encourage meaningful dialogue and action on pressing societal, scientific, cultural, and environmental issues.
Promote cultural inclusivity, sustainability, and ethical event management practices.
3.3 Core Values
The Salon shall uphold the following core values as the guiding principles for all decisions and activities:
Integrity – Maintaining honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct in all operations.
Curiosity – Fostering a spirit of inquiry, learning, and openness to new ideas.
Diversity – Representing a broad spectrum of voices, experiences, and disciplines.
Sustainability – Organizing events that are environmentally responsible and socially conscious.
Creativity – Encouraging originality, innovation, and unconventional thinking.
Community – Strengthening bonds within the local area while connecting to global networks.
3.4 Alignment with Global Goals (Optional)
Where appropriate, TEDxThaltej Salon will align its themes and programming with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to contribute to broader global priorities while maintaining its local relevance.
4.1 Supreme Authority
The Organizer of TEDxThaltej Salon, as named in the active TEDx license issued by TED, shall hold the highest decision-making authority in all matters concerning the governance, planning, execution, and continuity of the Salon. All other positions and committees derive their authority from the Organizer and operate within the scope defined in this Charter.
4.2 Organizing Committee
The Organizing Committee is the primary operational body of TEDxThaltej Salon. It functions under the direct supervision of the Organizer and may consist of, but is not limited to, the following roles:

Curator(s)
Production Head(s)
Marketing & Outreach Head(s)
Partnerships & Sponsorship Coordinator(s)
Volunteer Coordinator(s)
Technical Director(s)
Event Logistics Manager(s)
4.3 Appointment and Removal
The Organizer appoints and removes all members of the Organizing Committee at their sole discretion.
Appointments must be documented in writing and recorded in the Official Appointment Register.
Removal from any position takes effect immediately upon written notice from the Organizer.
4.4 Decision-Making Process
The Organizer retains final authority on all decisions.
The Organizing Committee may recommend actions by consensus or simple majority vote, but such recommendations are not binding without Organizer approval.
4.5 Succession Planning
In the event of the Organizer’s resignation, incapacity, or license transfer, the Organizer may designate a successor in writing, who will assume all Organizer powers and responsibilities.
If no successor is designated, the TEDx license terms shall determine the process for appointing a new Organizer.
4.6 Advisory Roles
The Organizer may appoint non-voting Advisors to provide expertise, strategic guidance, or community representation. Advisors hold no decision-making power unless formally delegated specific authority in writing.
5.1 Powers of the Organizer
The Organizer of TEDxThaltej Salon shall possess supreme and final authority over all aspects of governance, planning, and execution of the Salon, including but not limited to:
Approving event themes, topics, and overall creative direction.
Selecting, inviting, and approving speakers, performers, and special guests.
Forming, modifying, or dissolving committees, departments, or positions.
Approving budgets, financial transactions, and sponsorship agreements in compliance with TEDx rules.
Authorizing the issuance of official documents, certificates, and public communications.
Enforcing this Charter, TEDx guidelines, and applicable laws.
Establishing or dissolving associations, networks, or alumni bodies under the TEDxThaltej Salon name.
5.2 Powers of the Co-Organizer
The Co-Organizer shall have delegated powers as assigned by the Organizer in writing.
The Co-Organizer’s role is to assist in the operational management of TEDxThaltej Salon, coordinate specific activities, and act as an operational leader in the Organizer’s absence when authorized.
The Co-Organizer cannot override or countermand Organizer decisions unless a valid Power of Attorney (Section 5A) has been granted.
5.3 Relationship Between Organizer and Co-Organizer
The Organizer retains ultimate oversight over all Co-Organizer actions.
The Co-Organizer’s delegated authority can be expanded, limited, or revoked by the Organizer at any time via written notice.
In matters where the Co-Organizer acts within the scope of granted authority, such actions shall carry the same binding effect as if performed by the Organizer.
5.4 Exclusive Authority to Create Associations
Only the Organizer has the authority to establish new associations, networks, or alumni bodies under TEDxThaltej Salon. Any such body shall operate under a formal charter signed solely by the Organizer.
5A.1 Purpose
This section governs the process by which the Organizer may temporarily delegate full Organizer-level powers to the Co-Organizer through a formal Power of Attorney (PoA).
5A.2 Issuance of Power of Attorney
The Organizer may, at their sole discretion, issue a written Power of Attorney to the Co-Organizer.
The PoA must:
Be issued on official TEDxThaltej Salon letterhead.
Clearly specify the scope of powers being transferred.
State the effective date and expiry date, or conditions for early termination.
Bear the signature of the Organizer and an official document number.
5A.3 Extent of Powers Granted
During the validity of the PoA, the Co-Organizer shall:
Hold all rights, responsibilities, and authorities vested in the Organizer under this Charter.
Be empowered to approve speakers, themes, partnerships, budgets, and official communications.
Sign agreements, appoint or remove team members, and issue Executive Orders (Section 10A).
5A.4 Limitations
The PoA cannot authorize any action that violates TEDx global rules, applicable laws, or this Charter.
The PoA applies only to TEDxThaltej Salon activities; it does not extend to other TEDx licenses or unrelated entities.
5A.5 Expiry and Revocation
The PoA expires automatically on the stated expiry date unless renewed in writing by the Organizer.
The Organizer may revoke the PoA at any time before its expiry by issuing a formal written notice.
Upon expiry or revocation, all rights revert exclusively to the Organizer, and the Co-Organizer shall immediately cease exercising Organizer-level powers.
6.1 Event Format and Frequency
TEDxThaltej Salon shall be organized in accordance with the TEDx Salon format guidelines provided by TED.
Salons are to be held on a recurring basis as approved by the Organizer, typically smaller in scale but high in engagement and intimacy.
The number, timing, and themes of Salon events shall be determined solely by the Organizer.
6.2 Speaker Selection Process
All speakers must be vetted and approved by the Organizer.
Speaker selection shall prioritize originality, relevance, and alignment with TEDx’s mission of Ideas Worth Spreading.
No speaker may use the platform for political promotion, religious proselytizing, or commercial advertising.
The Organizer shall maintain a Speaker Approval Record documenting the selection rationale for each event.
6.3 Content Review and Compliance
All talks must comply with TEDx content guidelines, including restrictions on pseudoscience, unsubstantiated claims, and inappropriate material.
The Organizer has the right to edit, reschedule, or withdraw any talk that fails to meet compliance or quality standards.
6.4 Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
TEDxThaltej Salon shall ensure representation across gender, age, culture, language, and professional backgrounds.
Efforts shall be made to ensure accessibility for differently-abled attendees, including venue adjustments and accessible digital formats.
6.5 Partnerships and Sponsorships
All partnerships and sponsorships must comply with TEDx sponsorship rules and require Organizer approval.
Sponsorship agreements must be documented in writing and stored in the Official Partnership Register.
Sponsors may not influence content, speaker selection, or event themes.
6.6 Event Recording and Publishing
All talks will be professionally recorded and submitted to TED for review before publishing on the TEDx YouTube channel.
Speakers shall sign a Speaker Release Agreement granting TEDx the necessary rights to publish their talks globally.
6A.1 Purpose
This section establishes the formal administrative positions of Secretary to the Organizer and Secretary to the Co-Organizer, ensuring smooth operational support, accurate record-keeping, and secure communication within TEDxThaltej Salon.
6A.2 Appointment
The Secretary to the Organizer is appointed solely by the Organizer.
The Secretary to the Co-Organizer is appointed solely by the Co-Organizer.
Appointments must be issued through a formal Executive Order (Section 10A) and recorded in the Official Appointment Register.
Secretaries serve at the discretion of the appointing authority and may be removed at any time via written notice.
6A.3 Roles and Responsibilities
Secretary to the Organizer
Manage the Organizer’s official correspondence, calendar, and meeting arrangements.
Maintain secure custody of Executive Orders, confidential files, and event records.
Draft and prepare official documents under the Organizer’s instruction.
Act as the primary liaison between the Organizer and all committees, partners, and external stakeholders.
Secretary to the Co-Organizer
Manage the Co-Organizer’s correspondence, scheduling, and operational documentation.
Support delegated projects and initiatives as directed by the Co-Organizer.
Maintain accurate records of Co-Organizer-led activities.
Act as the liaison between the Co-Organizer and specific subcommittees or volunteers.
6A.4 Authority and Restrictions
Secretaries are administrative officers and hold no independent decision-making power.
They may sign official communications only with explicit written authorization from their appointing authority.
They cannot issue Executive Orders, amend the Charter, or exercise powers reserved exclusively for the Organizer or Co-Organizer.
6A.5 Confidentiality Obligations
Both Secretaries are bound by strict confidentiality regarding all TEDxThaltej Salon matters.
Breach of confidentiality or misuse of sensitive information constitutes grounds for immediate dismissal and potential disciplinary action under Section 15A.
6A.6 Succession and Vacancy
If a Secretary position becomes vacant, the appointing authority shall fill the position within 14 calendar days.
In case both positions are vacant, the Organizer shall have priority in appointing their Secretary first.
7.1 Purpose
This section governs the post-event engagement of TEDxThaltej Salon speakers, ensuring that their contributions continue to benefit the wider TEDxThaltej community while preserving a consistent alumni structure.
7.2 Current Alumni Framework
TEDxThaltej Salon does not presently maintain a separate, Salon-specific Speaker Alumni Association.
All speakers who have participated in a TEDxThaltej Salon event shall automatically become members of the TEDxThaltej Youth Speaker Association, established under the TEDxThaltej Youth license.
7.3 Rights and Benefits of Alumni
Salon speakers who join the TEDxThaltej Youth Speaker Association shall enjoy:
Inclusion in all alumni networking opportunities, forums, and communication channels.
Invitations to TEDxThaltej Youth and Salon cross-license events where alumni participation is appropriate.
Access to collaboration opportunities, mentorship programs, and community outreach initiatives coordinated by the Association.
7.4 Authority to Establish a Separate Salon Alumni Body
Only the Organizer of TEDxThaltej Salon has the exclusive authority to establish a separate, independent TEDxThaltej Salon Speaker Alumni Association.
Any such association must operate under a written charter signed solely by the Organizer and remain fully compliant with TEDx guidelines.
7.5 Dissolution or Integration
If a separate TEDxThaltej Salon Speaker Alumni Association is ever formed and later dissolved, its members shall revert to membership in the TEDxThaltej Youth Speaker Association, unless otherwise determined by the Organizer.
8.1 Purpose
This section ensures that TEDxThaltej Salon maintains full compliance with TEDx global rules, brand identity standards, and content integrity requirements, thereby protecting the credibility of both the local event and the TEDx brand worldwide.
8.2 Visual Identity
All event materials, including banners, posters, programs, and digital media, must adhere to TEDx’s official branding guidelines.
The TEDxThaltej Salon logo must not be altered in any way, except as permitted by TEDx brand rules.
Any unauthorized or non-compliant branding use is strictly prohibited and subject to disciplinary action under Section 15A.
8.3 Marketing and Publicity
All promotional materials must be reviewed and approved by the Organizer before publication.
Marketing content must reflect the event’s theme, comply with TEDx guidelines, and avoid political, religious, or commercial bias.
Partnerships and sponsorship acknowledgments must be displayed in accordance with TEDx sponsorship policies.
8.4 Content Standards
All talks, performances, and presentations must be factually accurate, respectful, and aligned with TEDx’s Ideas Worth Spreading ethos.
Content promoting pseudoscience, hate speech, discriminatory views, or personal commercial products is strictly prohibited.
The Organizer reserves the right to modify, reject, or remove any content that does not meet these standards.
8.5 Intellectual Property
All talks are recorded and published under the TEDx content license, granting TED non-exclusive, perpetual rights to distribute the content globally.
Speakers must sign a Speaker Release Agreement before their talk is recorded or presented.
Any unauthorized use or distribution of TEDxThaltej Salon recordings is prohibited.
8.6 Public Representation
Only the Organizer, or a delegate authorized in writing, may represent TEDxThaltej Salon in official public statements or media interactions.
No member, volunteer, or partner may make public claims on behalf of TEDxThaltej Salon without explicit written authorization.
8A.1 Purpose
This section governs the formal process for creating, appointing, and dissolving Director-Level Positions within TEDxThaltej Salon, ensuring transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.
8A.2 Authority to Create Positions
Only the Organizer may create a Director-Level Position.
Each new position must have:
A formal title;
A written description of scope, responsibilities, and decision-making authority;
A defined term of appointment;
A documented reason for creation.
The creation of any Director-Level Position must be announced to the Organizing Committee and recorded in the Official Appointment Register.
8A.3 Appointment Process
The Organizer appoints Directors through direct nomination.
Appointees must formally accept their role in writing before assuming duties.
An official appointment order, signed by the Organizer, shall be issued to confirm the role.
8A.4 Dissolution of Positions
The Organizer may dissolve any Director-Level Position at any time if:
The role is no longer required;
The function has been reassigned; or
The position holder has failed to fulfill responsibilities or violated the Charter.
Dissolution must be documented in writing, and all associated responsibilities shall revert to the Organizer until reassigned.
8A.5 Removal of Directors
The Organizer may remove a Director at any time, with or without cause, by issuing a written removal notice.
Removal takes effect immediately upon delivery of the notice unless otherwise specified.
8A.6 Vacancies
Vacancies in Director-Level Positions may be filled at the Organizer’s discretion, following the same appointment process outlined above.
9.1 Purpose
This section establishes the framework for the transparent, ethical, and compliant management of all financial resources associated with TEDxThaltej Salon.
9.2 Funding Sources
Permissible funding sources include:
Organizer’s personal funding;
Sponsorships permitted under TEDx global rules;
Ticket sales within the limitations set by TEDx guidelines;
Donations or in-kind contributions from approved partners.
9.3 Budgeting and Approval
The Organizer shall prepare and approve the annual and event-specific budgets.
All expenses must be pre-approved by the Organizer or by a delegate authorized in writing.
Budgets shall be documented in the Official Financial Register.
9.4 Financial Transactions
All transactions must be conducted through traceable banking channels whenever possible.
Cash transactions, if unavoidable, must be documented with receipts and recorded in the financial ledger.
Misappropriation of funds will result in disciplinary action under Section 15A and potential legal action.
9.5 Sponsorship Compliance
All sponsorship agreements must be in writing, approved by the Organizer, and compliant with TEDx sponsorship policies.
Sponsors may not influence content, speaker selection, or event themes.
All sponsorship acknowledgments must follow TEDx branding guidelines.
9.6 Transparency and Record-Keeping
Complete and accurate financial records shall be maintained for all Salon events.
Financial documents must be securely stored and retained for a minimum of five (5) years.
Records must be made available for review by TED upon request.
9.7 Prohibition on Profit Distribution
TEDxThaltej Salon operates on a not-for-profit basis.
No surplus funds may be distributed to the Organizer, Co-Organizer, team members, or affiliates. Any surplus shall be reinvested into future TEDxThaltej Salon activities.
10.1 Purpose
This section establishes the systems and standards for official documentation, internal and external communications, and the secure handling of records within TEDxThaltej Salon.
10.2 Official Communication Channels
All official communications shall be conducted through TEDxThaltej Salon–approved channels, including designated email accounts, registered social media handles, and the official website.
Personal accounts must not be used for official announcements unless expressly authorized in writing by the Organizer.
10.3 Document Numbering and Archival
All official documents, letters, certificates, and notices shall be assigned a unique document number for identification and tracking.
Documents must be stored in both digital and physical formats in the Official Records Archive maintained by the Organizer or a designated records officer.
10.4 Event Documentation
Each TEDxThaltej Salon event shall have a complete documentation file containing:
Event plan and theme approval;
Speaker selection records;
Marketing materials;
Budget and financial reports;
Feedback and post-event evaluations.
10.5 Public Announcements
All public announcements, press releases, and statements must be approved by the Organizer before release.
The Organizer may delegate announcement authority for specific matters via written order.
10.6 Confidentiality in Communications
Internal communications, including meeting minutes and planning documents, are considered confidential and may only be shared with authorized individuals.
Breach of communication confidentiality is subject to disciplinary action under Section 15A.
10A.1 Purpose
This section defines the authority, scope, and process for issuing formal Executive Orders and other official documents within TEDxThaltej Salon.
10A.2 Definition of an Executive Order
An Executive Order is a written directive issued by the Organizer — or by the Co-Organizer only when explicitly authorized via a valid Power of Attorney (Section 5A) — that carries immediate binding authority within the scope of TEDxThaltej Salon operations.
10A.3 Scope and Effect
Executive Orders have the same force as provisions of this Charter and remain in effect until:
Their specified expiry date; or
They are formally rescinded or replaced by a subsequent Executive Order.
Executive Orders may be used to:
Appoint or remove individuals from positions;
Approve event plans, themes, or budgets;
Grant special permissions or authorizations;
Implement urgent operational changes.
10A.4 Issuance Protocol
Executive Orders must:
Be issued on official TEDxThaltej Salon letterhead;
Carry a unique document number;
Clearly state the purpose, scope, and effective date;
Bear the signature of the issuing authority.
All Executive Orders shall be recorded in the Official Executive Orders Register.
10A.5 Other Official Document Types
In addition to Executive Orders, the Organizer may issue the following official documents:
Letter of Recommendation – Formal endorsement for an individual or entity.
Letter of Association – Formal confirmation of partnership or affiliation.
Certificate of Attendance – Issued to attendees of TEDxThaltej Salon events.
Certificate of Appreciation – Issued to individuals or organizations in recognition of contributions.
Certificate of Collaboration – Issued to partners or collaborators for joint initiatives.
10A.6 Record-Keeping
All official documents shall be stored in the Official Records Archive and indexed for easy retrieval.
Digital copies must be backed up on secure, Organizer-approved storage systems.
11.1 Purpose
This section establishes ethical standards and conflict of interest rules to ensure that all TEDxThaltej Salon activities are conducted with fairness, transparency, and alignment with TEDx’s mission of Ideas Worth Spreading.
11.2 Conflict of Interest Definition
A conflict of interest arises when an individual’s personal, financial, or professional interests could improperly influence their duties, decisions, or recommendations within TEDxThaltej Salon.
11.3 Declaration Requirement
All team members, speakers, and partners must declare any potential conflicts of interest to the Organizer before participating in Salon activities.
Declarations must be submitted in writing and recorded in the Conflict of Interest Register.
11.4 Prohibited Actions
The following are strictly prohibited:
Using a TEDxThaltej Salon platform for personal financial gain or promotion of commercial products/services.
Accepting gifts, payments, or favors from individuals or entities seeking to influence decisions.
Misusing confidential information for personal advantage.
11.5 Ethical Conduct Standards
All participants must treat others with respect, professionalism, and inclusivity.
Discrimination, harassment, hate speech, or intimidation is strictly forbidden.
Speakers must present accurate, evidence-based information and disclose any affiliations relevant to their talk.
11.6 Enforcement and Sanctions
The Organizer has sole authority to investigate and determine if a breach of this policy has occurred.
Violations may result in warnings, removal from position, revocation of speaking privileges, or blacklisting from future events, as per Section 15A.
11.7 Continuing Obligation
Conflict of interest and ethical obligations continue even after an individual’s formal role with TEDxThaltej Salon ends, in relation to any confidential information obtained during service.
12.1 Purpose
This section governs the creation, maintenance, and protection of TEDxThaltej Salon’s digital infrastructure to ensure secure, compliant, and uninterrupted online operations.
12.2 Official Digital Assets
TEDxThaltej Salon’s official digital assets include, but are not limited to:
Official website and domain(s);
Registered TEDxThaltej Salon email accounts;
Social media profiles on approved platforms;
Cloud storage systems for internal files;
Event registration and ticketing platforms.
12.3 Account Ownership and Control
All official digital accounts shall be created and owned in the name of TEDxThaltej Salon, not in any individual’s personal capacity.
The Organizer retains ultimate administrative access to all accounts.
Login credentials must be stored in the Secure Digital Access Register maintained by the Organizer.
12.4 Access Permissions
Access to digital platforms is granted on a role-specific, need-to-know basis.
Upon resignation, removal, or reassignment of a team member, their access rights must be revoked immediately.
12.5 Data Protection
All personal and event-related data must be collected, stored, and processed in compliance with applicable privacy laws and TEDx policies.
Sensitive data must be encrypted and backed up regularly on secure systems approved by the Organizer.
12.6 Cybersecurity Measures
Strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and updated security software must be used for all accounts.
Any suspected data breach or security incident must be reported to the Organizer immediately for investigation and response.
12.7 Prohibited Digital Conduct
Unauthorized sharing of credentials or confidential files;
Posting unofficial announcements or statements on TEDxThaltej Salon platforms;
Using Salon digital assets for personal, political, or commercial promotion.
12.8 Digital Asset Transition
In the event of a change in Organizer or dissolution of TEDxThaltej Salon, all digital assets, accounts, and data must be securely transferred to the incoming Organizer or as directed under Section 14.
13.1 Purpose
This section outlines the principles for engaging with and respecting the rights of all TEDxThaltej Salon stakeholders, including speakers, volunteers, partners, attendees, and the broader community.
13.2 Stakeholder Categories
Speakers – Individuals selected to present talks or performances at Salon events.
Volunteers – Individuals contributing their time and skills to plan and execute Salon events.
Partners – Organizations or entities providing sponsorship, in-kind support, or collaboration.
Attendees – Members of the public who participate in TEDxThaltej Salon events.
Community Members – The wider audience and network engaged through digital or outreach initiatives.
13.3 Rights of Stakeholders
Speakers have the right to fair selection processes, editorial guidance, and the professional recording and publishing of their talks in compliance with TEDx standards.
Volunteers have the right to a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment, clear instructions, and recognition of their contributions.
Partners have the right to agreed-upon visibility and acknowledgment in line with TEDx sponsorship guidelines.
Attendees have the right to an accessible, engaging, and well-organized event experience.
13.4 Engagement Principles
Engagement with all stakeholders shall be guided by respect, inclusivity, and transparency.
Feedback from stakeholders shall be actively sought and documented for continuous improvement.
Efforts shall be made to strengthen long-term relationships with stakeholders beyond the event date.
13.5 Recognition and Appreciation
The Organizer may issue Certificates of Appreciation (Section 10A) or other forms of acknowledgment to stakeholders who make notable contributions.
Recognition decisions are at the sole discretion of the Organizer.
13.6 Complaints and Grievances
Stakeholders may submit complaints or grievances in writing to the Organizer.
All submissions shall be acknowledged within seven (7) working days and addressed within thirty (30) working days where possible.
The Organizer’s decision on grievance resolution shall be final.
14.1 Authority to Amend
Only the Organizer of TEDxThaltej Salon holds the authority to amend, modify, or repeal any part of this Charter.
Amendments must be issued in writing as an Executive Order (Section 10A) and recorded in the Official Charter Register.
14.2 Amendment Procedure
Proposed amendments must be clearly stated, justified, and dated.
Amendments take effect immediately upon issuance unless a later effective date is specified.
The amended Charter must be circulated to all active committee members and relevant stakeholders within seven (7) working days of the change.
14.3 Restrictions on Amendments
No amendment may conflict with TEDx global rules or the TEDxThaltej Salon license terms.
Amendments may not retroactively legitimize actions taken in violation of TEDx policies.
14.4 Dissolution of TEDxThaltej Salon
Dissolution may occur if:
The TEDxThaltej Salon license is revoked by TED;
The Organizer voluntarily relinquishes the license;
The Organizer decides to permanently terminate Salon operations.
14.5 Dissolution Procedure
The Organizer must issue a Formal Dissolution Order stating the effective date and reasons for dissolution.
All digital assets, records, and equipment must be securely archived or transferred according to Section 12.8.
Any remaining funds or assets shall be used solely for purposes consistent with TEDx’s mission, with no personal distribution permitted.
14.6 Effect of Dissolution
Upon dissolution, all positions, committees, and authorities established under this Charter shall cease to exist.
Stakeholders shall be notified in writing within thirty (30) days of dissolution.
15.1 Purpose
This section establishes the mechanisms for enforcing this Charter and addressing violations, ensuring accountability and operational integrity in TEDxThaltej Salon.
15.2 Enforcement Authority
The Organizer has sole authority to enforce this Charter, investigate alleged breaches, and impose disciplinary measures.
The Co-Organizer may enforce these provisions only when specifically delegated authority in writing by the Organizer.
15.3 Investigation Process
Any alleged violation shall be reported in writing to the Organizer.
The Organizer may conduct a formal inquiry, including interviews, document reviews, and consultation with relevant stakeholders.
The accused party shall be given an opportunity to respond before any sanction is imposed.
15.4 Interim Measures
The Organizer may impose temporary restrictions (e.g., suspension from duties, revocation of access to resources) during an investigation if necessary to protect event integrity.
15A.1 Grounds for Sanctions
Violations that may result in sanctions include, but are not limited to:
Breach of TEDx guidelines or this Charter;
Misuse of official resources or authority;
Financial mismanagement or misconduct;
Unethical behavior, harassment, or discrimination;
Unauthorized public representation of TEDxThaltej Salon;
Breach of confidentiality obligations.
15A.2 Types of Sanctions
Depending on severity, sanctions may include:
Written Warning – Formal notification of misconduct.
Suspension – Temporary removal from duties or participation in Salon activities.
Demotion – Reduction in role or responsibilities.
Removal from Position – Termination of appointment or role.
Permanent Blacklisting – Prohibition from participating in future TEDxThaltej Salon or related events.
Referral to Legal Authorities – If conduct constitutes a violation of applicable laws.
15A.3 Sanction Procedure
All sanctions must be documented in writing and issued as an Executive Order (Section 10A).
Sanctions take immediate effect unless otherwise stated.
15A.4 Appeal Process
Individuals subject to sanctions may submit a written appeal to the Organizer within seven (7) working days of receiving notice.
The Organizer’s decision on the appeal is final and binding.
16.1 Establishment
By the authority of this Charter, the TEDxThaltej Salon Consulate is hereby established as the official body responsible for overseeing all processes related to incoming speakers (those applying to speak at TEDxThaltej Salon) and outgoing speakers (those representing TEDxThaltej Salon at other TEDx or public speaking platforms).
16.2 Mandate
The Consulate shall:
Manage applications for potential speakers for TEDxThaltej Salon events.
Facilitate verification and approval processes in accordance with this Charter.
Maintain a database of speaker credentials, background checks, and references.
Ensure compliance with TEDx content guidelines for all approved speakers.
16.3 Approval Authority
All speakers must receive final approval from Mr. Fenil Shah, TEDx Organizer for both the TEDxThaltej Youth license and the TEDxThaltej Salon license.
Applications shall be reviewed by the Application Management Teams of both the Youth license and the Salon license.
Approval requires a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the TEDxThaltej Youth license Organizer and the TEDxThaltej Salon license Organizer.
The Co-Organizers’ endorsement is optional but may be provided if deemed necessary.
16.4 Third-Party Verification
Every speaker application must undergo a check and verification process conducted by an independent third party or third individual not connected to any TEDxThaltej license.
This independent verification must confirm:
The authenticity of speaker credentials;
The accuracy of biographical and topic information;
Compliance with TEDx’s global speaker eligibility standards.
16.5 Final Approval Process
Step 1: Application submission to the Consulate.
Step 2: Review by the Youth and Salon Application Management Teams.
Step 3: Third-party verification.
Step 4: Issuance of NOC(s) by the relevant Organizer(s).
Step 5: Final approval by Mr. Fenil Shah as the TEDx Organizer for both licenses.
16.6 Records and Archival
The Consulate shall maintain a secure, indexed record of all applications, verification reports, NOCs, and approval documents.
Records must be retained for a minimum of five (5) years and be available for internal audit.
16.7 Accountability
The Consulate operates under the direct authority of the TEDxThaltej Salon Organizer and is accountable for ensuring all speaker approvals meet the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and brand compliance.
17.1 Purpose
This section establishes the authority, scope, and procedures for declaring and exercising emergency powers to ensure continuity, safety, and operational stability of TEDxThaltej Salon in extraordinary circumstances.
17.2 Definition of Emergency
For the purposes of this Charter, an “emergency” includes but is not limited to:
Operational Emergencies – Sudden loss of venue, critical speaker cancellations, logistical breakdowns, or severe financial disruptions.
Safety Emergencies – Natural disasters, public health threats, civil unrest, or any situation endangering attendees, speakers, or staff.
Brand/Compliance Emergencies – Immediate threats to TEDx brand integrity, violations of TEDx guidelines, or legal risks requiring urgent action.
17.3 Authority to Declare an Emergency
Only the Organizer has the authority to declare an emergency.
In the Organizer’s absence, the Co-Organizer may declare an emergency only if granted prior authorization through a valid Power of Attorney (Section 5A) or via an Emergency Delegation Order.
17.4 Procedure for Declaration
An Emergency Declaration must:
Be issued in writing as an Executive Order (Section 10A) marked “Emergency Declaration”;
Clearly describe the nature, cause, and scope of the emergency;
Specify the temporary powers granted and their duration;
Be communicated immediately to all relevant stakeholders.
17.5 Emergency Powers Granted
Upon declaration, the Organizer (or authorized Co-Organizer) may:
Override standard procedures in this Charter to take immediate protective or corrective action;
Postpone, reschedule, or cancel events without prior committee approval;
Reallocate funds, resources, or personnel as necessary to address the emergency;
Suspend normal approval processes for critical operational decisions;
Issue binding directives to any committee, officer, or volunteer.
17.6 Duration and Review
Emergency powers shall remain in effect only for the duration necessary to address the emergency and shall not exceed 30 calendar days unless extended by a subsequent Emergency Declaration.
The Organizer must review the situation at least once every 7 calendar days to determine whether the emergency status remains justified.
17.7 Termination of Emergency
An emergency ends when the Organizer issues a Formal Termination Order stating that normal operations have been restored.
All temporary measures taken under emergency powers must be reviewed for compliance and documented in the Post-Emergency Report within 14 calendar days of termination.
17.8 Accountability
All actions taken under emergency powers must be reasonable, proportionate, and aimed solely at addressing the emergency. Misuse of emergency powers constitutes a serious violation under Section 15A.
18.1 Effective Date
This Charter shall come into full legal and operational effect on the date of its signing by the Organizer of TEDxThaltej Salon. All provisions herein are binding from that date forward, unless otherwise specified.
18.2 Transitional Provisions
All existing policies, practices, and committees of TEDxThaltej Salon prior to the adoption of this Charter shall remain valid unless they directly conflict with any provision herein.
Any positions, appointments, or agreements made prior to this Charter’s effective date shall be deemed ratified, provided they comply with TEDx global guidelines.
Within 30 calendar days of adoption, the Organizer shall:
Integrate all operational processes into compliance with this Charter;
Update all official records to reflect charter-based structures and designations.
18.3 Continuity Clause
This Charter shall remain in full force and effect regardless of any change in Organizer, Co-Organizer, or other leadership positions, unless formally repealed or amended in accordance with Section 14.
In the event of leadership transition, all powers, duties, and obligations under this Charter automatically transfer to the incoming Organizer.
Any successor Organizer is bound by all prior commitments, agreements, and obligations made in accordance with this Charter.
18.4 Archival & Certification
A certified copy of this Charter shall be kept in the Official Charter Register and digitally archived in secure storage.
All team members, officers, and partners shall be provided with access to the final certified version.
19.1 Purpose
This section establishes the framework for the creation, execution, and management of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between TEDxThaltej Salon and external parties, ensuring that all collaborations are transparent, lawful, and compliant with TEDx global policies.
19.2 Definition of MoU
A Memorandum of Understanding is a formal, written document that records the mutual understanding, roles, and responsibilities of TEDxThaltej Salon and another party for a specific purpose or project.
An MoU is not a legally binding contract but is a formal statement of intent and cooperation.
19.3 Authority to Create and Sign
Only the Organizer has the authority to approve and sign MoUs on behalf of TEDxThaltej Salon.
The Co-Organizer may sign MoUs only if explicitly authorized in writing through a valid Power of Attorney (Section 5A) or a specific Executive Order (Section 10A).
No other team member or volunteer may enter into an MoU on behalf of TEDxThaltej Salon.
19.4 Mandatory Elements of an MoU
Every MoU must contain:
Names and official details of all parties involved;
Purpose and scope of the understanding;
Roles and responsibilities of each party;
Duration and expiry date of the MoU;
Termination conditions;
Signatures of authorized representatives with dates.
19.5 Compliance Requirements
MoUs must comply with TEDx brand guidelines and sponsorship rules.
No MoU may include clauses that allow external influence over speaker selection, event content, or branding.
All MoUs must be approved by the Organizer before any public announcement or implementation.
19.6 Record-Keeping
All signed MoUs shall be stored in the Official MoU Register maintained by the Organizer.
A digital copy of each MoU must be securely archived in the Official Records Archive as per Section 10.
19.7 Review and Renewal
MoUs should be reviewed at least 30 days before expiry to determine whether they should be renewed, revised, or terminated.
Renewal requires a new signed MoU following the same procedure.
19.8 Termination of MoU
Either party may terminate the MoU in accordance with its termination clause.
Termination must be documented through a Formal Termination Notice signed by the Organizer and recorded in the MoU Register.
20.1 Purpose
This section establishes the procedure for handling situations where the TEDxThaltej Salon Organizer is unavailable or temporarily unable to sign official documents, ensuring that operations continue without disruption while maintaining full compliance with TEDx standards.
20.2 Circumstances of Absence
An Organizer shall be considered “absent” for the purposes of this section if:
They are outside the country or unreachable for a period exceeding 72 hours;
They are medically incapacitated or otherwise unable to perform their duties;
They have formally delegated authority for a specified period in writing.
20.3 Temporary Signature Authority
If the Organizer is absent, signature authority may be temporarily exercised by:
The Co-Organizer, only if:
They hold a valid Power of Attorney (Section 5A); or
They have been granted specific written authorization via an Executive Order (Section 10A).
If no Co-Organizer is authorized, the Organizer may pre-designate an Acting Signatory Officer in writing for a specific document or period.
20.4 Scope of Temporary Authority
The authorized signatory may sign:
Official approvals;
MoUs (Section 19);
Certificates and letters listed in Section 10A;
Financial approvals within pre-defined limits;
Event compliance documentation required by TEDx headquarters.
20.5 Restrictions
Temporary signatories may not amend the Charter, dissolve the event, or issue an Emergency Declaration (Section 17) unless explicitly authorized in writing by the Organizer.
All documents signed under temporary authority must clearly state:
“Signed in the absence of the Organizer under delegated authority.”
20.6 Record-Keeping
All documents signed during the Organizer’s absence must be logged in the Temporary Signature Authority Register.
A report of all such signings must be presented to the Organizer within 7 calendar days of their return or recovery.
20.7 Accountability
Any misuse of temporary signature authority constitutes a serious breach under Section 15A and may result in removal from position and permanent blacklisting.
21.1 Purpose and Legal Status
This section formally embeds the rights, duties, and liabilities from the Constitution of India and the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC) into the TEDxThaltej Salon Charter, making them enforceable as internal rules and binding obligations.
This section has paramount authority over all other sections of the Charter and cannot be suspended, repealed, or diluted.
Any breach of this section is deemed both a Charter violation and a violation of Indian law, subject to legal prosecution.
TEDxThaltej Salon and all associated persons are bound to uphold and apply the following constitutional provisions:
Article 14 – Equality Before Law
All decisions, appointments, speaker selections, and partnerships must be impartial and free from arbitrary discrimination.
Articles 15 & 16 – Non-Discrimination
No participant shall be excluded or disadvantaged on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex, or place of birth.
Article 19(1)(a) – Freedom of Speech and Expression
All talks and content are protected expressions, but are subject to Article 19(2) restrictions, including public order, decency, morality, and sovereignty of India.
Article 21 – Right to Life and Personal Liberty
All stakeholders are entitled to safety, dignity, and protection during TEDxThaltej Salon activities.
Article 51A – Fundamental Duties
All participants must promote harmony (Art. 51A(e)), protect public property (Art. 51A(i)), and strive for excellence (Art. 51A(j)).
Directive Principles
Policies and events must promote social justice, cultural preservation, and the spread of knowledge as per Part IV of the Constitution.
The following IPC provisions are integrated into this Charter as enforceable rules:
Section 124A – Sedition
No talk, statement, or action may incite hatred, disaffection, or violence against the Government of India.
Section 153A – Promoting Enmity
Any activity that promotes hostility between groups on grounds of religion, race, language, or community is strictly prohibited.
Section 295A – Outraging Religious Feelings
Deliberate and malicious acts intended to offend religious sentiments are prohibited.
Sections 499 & 500 – Defamation
No participant may make false and damaging statements against any person or entity.
Section 354 & 354A – Outraging Modesty & Sexual Harassment
Any form of harassment or indecent behavior is forbidden and will result in immediate expulsion and legal reporting.
Section 420 – Cheating & Fraud
Misrepresentation, false claims, or deception in any Salon-related matter is punishable.
Section 506 – Criminal Intimidation
Threats or coercion towards any stakeholder are banned and reportable to police.
Section 509 – Insulting Modesty
Any spoken, written, or gestured insult to the dignity of a person is prohibited.
Every MoU (Section 19), Executive Order (Section 10A), and speaker agreement must contain the clause:
“This agreement is subject to the Constitution of India, applicable central and state laws, the Indian Penal Code, and the TEDxThaltej Salon Charter.”
Any violation of this section will be handled under Section 15A: Punishment & Sanctions and, where applicable, will be reported to law enforcement.
The Organizer has full authority to initiate legal action in civil or criminal courts.
Offending individuals shall bear personal legal liability; TEDxThaltej Salon shall not be held responsible for personal acts of misconduct.
All disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
In cases of criminal conduct, jurisdiction shall extend to the police station having territorial authority over the incident location.
22.1 Purpose & Status
This section embeds selected international treaties, conventions, and transnational enforcement mechanisms into the TEDxThaltej Salon Charter. It ensures operations uphold obligations under international law, including human rights, cultural preservation, environmental protection, and the prevention of transnational crimes.
This section carries equal paramount authority to Section 21 (National Law Integration) and cannot be suspended, repealed, or diluted.

The Organizer reserves the right to share investigation findings, documents, and identity information with INTERPOL, UN agencies, or treaty monitoring bodies.
All cross-border partnerships, sponsorships, and speaker invitations must undergo due diligence screening for compliance with anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, and anti-terrorist financing measures.
22.4 Mandatory International Compliance Clause
Every MoU, Executive Order, sponsorship agreement, and speaker contract with an international element shall include:
“This agreement is subject to applicable International Law, including all treaties, conventions, and enforcement frameworks incorporated into Section 22 of the TEDxThaltej Salon Charter, and may be reported to relevant international enforcement agencies in the event of breach.”
22.5 Sanctions for Breach
Breach of this section shall trigger immediate suspension under Section 15A and may result in permanent blacklisting, criminal complaint filing, or reporting to international enforcement authorities.
In cases involving cross-border criminal activity, the Organizer shall initiate INTERPOL liaison via the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India’s National Central Bureau.
22.6 Organizer’s Authority
The Organizer has sole authority to interpret this section, add or remove incorporated instruments via Executive Order, and determine when international reporting is required.
All international enforcement actions taken under this section shall be recorded in the International Enforcement Register and retained for a minimum of ten (10) years.
23.1 Purpose
To maintain the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability, this section establishes mandatory global background vetting and continuous compliance monitoring for all individuals and entities associated with TEDxThaltej Salon.
23.2 Scope
This section applies to:
Organizer and Co-Organizer(s)
Acting Organizer(s)
All Directors, Department Heads, and volunteers
All speakers, performers, and panelists
All sponsors, partners, and vendors
23.3 Mandatory Global Vetting
Before appointment, engagement, or collaboration, all covered individuals/entities shall:
Undergo criminal record checks in all countries of citizenship and residence.
Undergo financial integrity screening for fraud, corruption, or bankruptcy.
Be checked against INTERPOL, UN Sanctions Lists, and FATF watchlists.
Submit a written declaration of all potential conflicts of interest.
23.4 Continuous Compliance Monitoring
Compliance checks shall be conducted quarterly for all active members.
Public conduct, digital presence, and professional activities shall be monitored for risks to the TEDxThaltej Salon brand.
Anonymous whistleblower reports must be investigated within 14 days.
23.5 Immediate Sanctions
Any breach of compliance obligations may result in:
Immediate suspension from all roles or activities.
Permanent blacklisting from TEDxThaltej Salon and affiliated licenses.
Reporting to relevant national or international enforcement authorities under Sections 21 & 22.
23.6 Data Protection & Privacy
All vetting and monitoring records shall be stored securely in the Global Compliance Register for a minimum of 10 years.
Access shall be restricted to the Organizer, Co-Organizer, and Compliance Director.
23.7 Non-Cooperation
Refusal to comply with vetting, monitoring, or investigation procedures shall be treated as a Category One Violation under Section 15A, resulting in immediate removal and blacklisting.
24.1 Purpose
This section imposes an absolute duty of loyalty, secrecy, and diligence upon all members of TEDxThaltej Salon, ensuring uncompromising discipline, confidentiality, and devotion to the Charter.
24.2 Scope
This section applies to:
Organizer, Co-Organizer, Acting Organizer(s)
All Directors and Department Heads
All staff, interns, and volunteers
All contractors, partners, and temporary workers engaged by the Salon
24.3 Mandatory NDA-cum-MoU
Every individual covered under this section must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) cum Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) before assuming any role or responsibility.
The NDA-cum-MoU shall:
Bind the individual to absolute confidentiality of all internal matters.
Confirm unconditional acceptance of this Charter, including Sections 21, 22, 23, and 24.
Establish that breach of confidentiality or loyalty results in immediate sanctions.
If the team member is a minor (under 18 years of age):
Their parent or legal guardian must provide a Parental Consent Form, duly signed, expressly stating that they have read and understood the Charter and the NDA-cum-MoU.
The form must confirm that the parent/guardian grants permission for their ward to serve in the team and accepts that their ward is fully bound by the Charter.
The parent/guardian shall assume full liability for all acts, breaches, or misconduct committed by the minor during their tenure.
No member may commence duties until the NDA-cum-MoU (and Parental Consent Form, if applicable) is duly executed and recorded in the Official Confidentiality Register.
24.4 Absolute Duty of Loyalty
All members shall act with unconditional loyalty to the Organizer and the Charter.
Criticism, informal complaints, gossip, or any form of disloyal communication regarding TEDxThaltej Salon is forbidden.
24.5 Absolute Duty of Secrecy
All internal communications, strategies, and meetings are classified as Strictly Confidential.
No member may informally discuss or disclose any meeting content, decision, or action, even with another team member, family, or friend.
Confidentiality applies across all mediums — in person, phone calls, texts, and digital platforms.
Breach of secrecy, even unintentionally, constitutes a Category One Violation.
24.6 Eternal Binding of Confidentiality
The obligation of secrecy continues beyond the duration of membership.
Former members remain permanently bound by the NDA-cum-MoU (and, where applicable, their parental consent form).
Disclosure of confidential information after departure may result in sanctions and escalation under Sections 21 & 22.
24.7 Absolute Duty of Perfection
Members must perform all tasks with precision, punctuality, and excellence.
Negligence, delay, or failure to meet standards shall be treated as gross misconduct.
24.8 Sanctions for Breach
Any violation of loyalty, secrecy, or perfection duties shall result in:
Immediate removal from role.
Permanent blacklisting under Section 15A.
Escalation to enforcement authorities under Section 21 (National Law) and Section 22 (International Law).
24.9 No Excuses Clause
Stress, misunderstanding, age, or personal relationships shall not excuse a breach.
Accountability under this section is absolute and unconditional.
25.1 Recognition of the Consulate
The TEDxThaltej Salon Consulate (hereinafter “Consulate”), as established under this Charter, is hereby vested with absolute and overriding authority in the review, management, and finalisation of all applications relating to speakers, performers, or presenters at TEDxThaltej Salon.
25.2 Plenary and Final Authority
The Consulate’s determinations regarding speaker shortlisting, curation, approval, and finalisation shall be plenary, conclusive, and binding, and shall not be subject to review, veto, or reversal by any other office or authority within the TEDxThaltej Salon framework.
25.3 Limitation on Organizer, Co-Organizer, and Executive Orders
Notwithstanding any other provision of this Charter:
The Organizer shall not interfere with or override Consulate decisions concerning speakers.
The Co-Organizer shall likewise possess no authority to alter, suspend, or overrule such decisions.
No Executive Order (EO), whether issued under Section 10A or any other authority, shall have effect in modifying or negating the Consulate’s determinations under this Section.
25.4 Compliance with TEDx Rules
The Consulate, in exercising its powers, shall act in conformity with the TEDx Rules and Regulations issued by TED Conferences LLC, ensuring that selections reflect TEDx’s non-commercial, intellectual, cultural, and ethical standards.
25.5 Reinforcement Clause
In the event of any inconsistency between this Section and any other provision of the Charter, the authority of the Consulate under this Section 25 shall prevail absolutely.
26.1 Headship of the Consulate
The Secretary to the Organizer shall be the principal head and presiding authority of the TEDxThaltej Salon Consulate, vested with the mandate to convene, moderate, and conclude deliberations in relation to applications, speaker management, and finalisation processes.
26.2 Acting Organizer
In the event that the position of Acting Organizer is duly delegated by the Organizer, the Acting Organizer shall, alongside the Secretary to the Organizer, serve as a co-presiding authority within the Consulate, sharing equal leadership responsibility in its functioning.
26.3 Core Membership of the Consulate
In addition to the Headship defined above, the following shall constitute the Core Team of the Consulate:
The Director of the Speaker Support Team, and
The Director of the Application Management Team.
These Directors shall be entitled to participate fully in deliberations, hold complete access to proceedings, and exercise voting and decision-making powers as members of the Core Team.
26.4 Knowledge & Records
All members of the Core Team shall be entitled to full and unrestricted knowledge of the discussions, documents, records, and determinations of the Consulate. The Consulate shall not be under mandatory obligation to share the entirety of its proceedings with the Organizer or Co-Organizer, but may, at its discretion, provide summaries or reports deemed appropriate.
26.5 Role of Organizer and Co-Organizer
The Organizer and Co-Organizer shall function solely in the capacity of Observers within the Consulate. They shall have the right to attend deliberations and issue advisory inputs, but shall possess no power of veto, alteration, or reversal of Consulate decisions.
26.6 Gazette of Nomination
The Organizer may, in the exercise of their advisory role, issue a Gazette of Nomination, setting forth recommendations of applicants or proposed speakers. Such a Gazette shall be treated as a non-binding advisory document to be placed before the Consulate.
26.7 Final Consideration
The final and binding consideration, evaluation, and determination of all applications and nominations shall rest exclusively with the Consulate. Neither the Organizer, the Co-Organizer, nor any other office or order shall have authority to substitute or modify such determinations.
26.8 Reinforcement Clause
This Section shall operate in harmony with Section 25, and together they shall reinforce the supremacy of the Consulate in all matters concerning applications and speaker finalisation.
Section 26A: The Secretary to Co-Organizer 2025/August Act
26A.1 Enactment
This Section shall be known and cited as The Secretary to Co-Organizer 2025/August Act.
26A.2 Recognition as Co-Head
By force of this Act, the Secretary to the Co-Organizer is hereby vested with equal headship within the TEDxThaltej Salon Consulate, alongside the Secretary to the Organizer and the Acting Organizer (if duly appointed).
26A.3 Authority
The Secretary to the Co-Organizer shall enjoy full rights to convene, deliberate, moderate, and vote within the Consulate, and such powers shall be exercised in absolute parity with other Heads of the Consulate.
26A.4 Irreversibility Clause
This Act shall not be repealed, suspended, or diminished except by express amendment citing this Act by name and year, and such amendment shall require the Organizer’s approval.
26A.5 Conditional Existence
In the event that the office of Co-Organizer is abolished, suspended, or left vacant by order of the Organizer, the office of Secretary to the Co-Organizer shall ipso facto cease to exist, and all provisions of this Act shall stand in abeyance until such time as a Co-Organizer is reinstated.
26A.6 Reinforcement
This Act shall operate jointly with Sections 25 and 26, ensuring the Consulate’s supremacy in speaker finalisation and reinforcing the equality of authority among all its Heads.
